GamePro Issue 25 (August 1991)

Back in August 1991 you would have seen GamePro Issue 25 on the news stands. The cover featured Spiderman doing battle with 4 of his nemesis’s. Just by looking at the cover you can easily tell that Gamepro target audience was probably much younger than it is today. I guess that $1000 in prizes was a decent amount to be won, but not too sure how “The Little Mermaid” could be classified as a Cool Cart? So does anyone remember what is special about August of 1991? Thats right it was the month that the Super Nintendo finally dropped in North America!

GamePro was also psyching us up for their new TV show that was debuting the following month. For our younger crowd, Gamepro actually had a TV show that did reviews of video games. It was hosted by J.D. Roth and some stoner co-host who acted like Keanu Reeves from “Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure”.  J.D. Roth went on to become the Executive Producer of the hit show “The Biggest Loser”. I think that denim jacket J.D. wore back in 1991 qualifies him for a lifetime “Biggest Loser” award. Oh who am I kidding? I probably rocked a similar look back then.  Lets get onto the contents of this issue….
